cluelessfisherman
I'm headed to Homer on Tuesday for 5 full days of Halibut, King & Silver salmon, Ling Cod, & yellow eye fishing! I can't wait! This is my first trip to Alaska.Anything special I should be bringing - besides a back brace? lolAlso - should I bring the gore tex or the rubber rain gear? Looks to be 40's - 50's for temps next week & rain...Thanks guys!
senco 1
A camera with a good zoom for taking pictures of the whales. Wear warm cloths in layers and a good rain suit/wind breaker. You will have light rain almost every day. When we were there last week it would rain in the afternoon and evening. You will have a blast!! We had a 3 hour boat ride to get to the Halibut spot. Let us know how you did when you get back.
Sherpa
I hope you get some Yellow Eye. I tried some last year with some Halibut at the same time and definitely preferred the Yellow Eye. I love Halibut by the way. Don't forget some good waterproof boots. I always like to have rubber boots on hand if it's really wet out.
