Remember to clean vegetation off boat trailers and out of your boats when leaving Nelson Park Lake because the invasive plant brittle naiad is present. Remember to clean vegetation off boat trailers when leaving Nelson Park Lake because the invasive plant brittle naiad is present there. Channel Catfish - Good: Many channel catfish have been caught from the face of the dam. Anglers have been having the best luck using stink bait and fishing fairly close to shore in 5 to 10 feet of water. Bluegill - Fair: 7 to 8-inch bluegill have been caught on small jigs and a wax worm. If you have a small boat, try drifting with a jig set at about 6 to 10 feet down.
