Tis not the season

I hate this time of year. Boat's put away; too warm for ice fishing, too cold for open water. Fish won't bite from shore from the lakes and rivers that are still open. Aside for the lucky few who have the option of keeping their boat out all year and hitting the river; it's hell for the rest of us who don't hunt. I'm getting cabin fever from switiching the reels on my ultralight panfish rods to my jigging sticks; and re-spooling them with lighter, coldwater line. Fishing PC games help; but it's not the same as holding something wet and slimy. I miss that feeling right now... Might have to blow my money at Trout air before it gets too bad.. altough those trout would strike a pop can with a hook on it. wink.gif I need help...

Oh Fish Toys I know where you are coming from. Everytime I go shopping for Xmas I find all this neat stuff I really "need". Lucky if I find one Xmas gift to three for myself. But do it like I did, buy them something you can use - like the GPS I bought for the husband. grin.gif

Guys, you should do like I do, buy a cheap older small 14' with a small motor and keep it until all lakes gets solid ice. I am still going out with it on Minnesota river or Mississippi, and when it gets time to icefish, just run motor dry, spray some fogging into cylinders, check oil in lower unit, that's it, I flip it upside down and she's done for winter. I sure hate when we are "in between" stages, but not anymore, now there's no crowd, fishing is GREAT.

I like this transition time a lot better than the early Spring transition - 'cause that last Northern is still fresh in my memory!! That early spring wait for ice-out is tough.
