Carnuba Wax on boat hull, good or bad?

I was wondering if carnuba wax on the boat hull will put a bad taste in the water and make the fish not bite?
Last year on Mille Lacs I had the shinyest Pro-V on the lake, fishing the north 15' sand break watching boats follow my drift pattern and catching eye after eye.I couldn't
buy a bite. Could the wax be a deterrent?

I have my doubts that the wax was leaving a taste in the water, I do know that it does wear off. What I think would be more of a likely possibility is that it was the reflection from the bottom of the boat flashing a warning to all fish below, spooking them.
