Big Stone opener?

Navigator

Recommended Posts

Okay, it's officially spring (thermometer reads 80) but that aside next weekend is the Big Stone opener!!! I've been fishing that lake for 6 years and it's one fantastic fishery. Typically the shallows is you're best bet for action. A number of methods from pitching jigs, to slip bobbers, to trolling cranks work. Does anyone know if the ice is off the lake? The last time I called Bud's bait they said it was just starting to open up on the north end.

Any comments or past successes from fishing this huge walleye lake, let's hear it.

I have not done to much walleye fishing on Big Stone, but I have fished the perch and bluegills last Sept. limited out on perch. I have noticed that there is little mention of Big Stone in the web site or I may not know where to look. I plan on fishing Big Stone in the future and would like to see more about it. Thanks
