Gordie
I was talking with shack on this and I think I heard or read someplace that a Flathead will eat 30 percent own weight in food. So that means a 30 pound fish with eat 10 pound of baitfish/etc to fill up untikl the next timwe it feeds. I know that it would be easy for a big flat to consume a 1 or 2 pound sucker/carp what have you but I think that when they are feeding they will just eat until they reach that full mark. I also belive that they will not pass up a easy meal so if a 30 pound cat ate a 10 pound carp and on its way back to its resting plaace it happens to come a across a 4 inch bullie struggling on a hook it will eat it up.just myt thoughts.I used to think those big flats would posittion them selfs so they wouldnt have to work so hard at eating a meal but I not so sure that this is always the case. anyhow I still like big bait but I have know problem hooking a small bullie up anymore
MinnesnowtaWild
Yeah it's true...all my bigger fish are not caught on big bait. Usually it's the opposite...small fish on big bait.
Scott M
You can start using 0-10 inchers on August 9 (unless you are north of Hwy 210, but there aren't any flats up there anyway)

twostroke
So I take it that the bill pass and it will be legal to use up to a 10" bullhead? When did the bill pass?

cowboybiker
now that moore's bait is no longer, does anyone know of a good "non-infested" lake or creek to catch bullheads in prior lake or jordan area?

CarpinMNRiver
Can you use bullheads caught from the MN river? Found a creek flowing into the river with lots of bullheads. We caught one after another off a jig and crawler. I ended up using those for bait that night rather than the suckers I bought. If I would have had some sort of contraption set up to bring them home I would have. They were all nice lively guys and the perfect size.
