Bow Mounting My Vexlar

Recommended Posts

Guest

I want to put my vexlar fl-8 on my bow for a backup depth finder while casting etc. Other than the transom mount transducer, do I need anything to set this up? Mainly, I'm wondering if I need anything to transfer the electrical from the special dongle provided for the vexlar battery pack to my main boat battery?

Thanks.

You shouldn't need anything special but talk to Pwaldow, he has his on the front of his boat.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to try and tackle this over the weekend. Gander doesn't have any transducers...hoping to pick one up at Thorne Bros. Where's Pwaldo?

Buy the kit. It doesn't cost much more then the transducer alone and it makes things much easier. I think I got mine at Mills Fleet Farm this spring. The kit includes a mounting bracket, connectors, inline fuse and a bunch of other stuff. Everything you need to mount it. Believe me, if I could do it, anyone can.Scotts
