we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted January 12, 2010 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted January 12, 2010 Have fun checking all the info below and let's swap info. We'd hope to hear from you too.Iowa Fishing reports - Click here for even more SW Iowa infoBluegill - Good: The Bluegill bite is good late in the afternoon and especially just before dark near sunken habitat. This habitat can be found in most of the coves and in deeper water out from the points. Sonar and/or cameras help in finding the structures. The bluegills are good sized around 8 inches and are being caught using both wax worms and maggots. Crappie - Fair: A few crappies are being pulled off the same sunken habitat as the bluegills. Better crappie are being caught suspended in the deeper water in the evenings. Some of the crappie being caught are 10 to 11 inches.
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Joe Posted August 10, 2010 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted August 10, 2010 Bluegill - Fair: The bluegill pattern is remaining consistent. The bite is not fast, but they are being picked up by drifting small pieces of night crawler out from the south shore, or near the pallet structures east of the island. The lake is stratified, so keep bait above 8 to 10 feet.
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Joe Posted December 24, 2010 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted December 24, 2010 Bluegill - Good: Good sized bluegill averaging over 8 inches are being caught. They are being caught over sunken habitat in depths of 10 feet or greater. Many of the points accessible by foot during open water have habitat sunk in front of them. Crappie - Good: Anglers that stick it out into the late afternoon and after sunset are catching crappie in the same habitat the bluegills are coming off of. Glow jigs with wax worms or minnows are working.
