Are Lily-pads Protected??

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if you can take one or two
plants home to use in a small, store bought
pond?? I have some sunnies in there, and would like to add some natural surroundings for them.

I went to the DNR site and did some digging.
It states that all plants found in public waters are the property of the state,(no big surprise)!! Anyway, you are not allowed to transplant them, but are allowed to gather
them for personal use, without getting a permit. So it looks like my little sunnies will have a little peice of home to swim
around in........

Don't quote me on this. What I have been told that is illegal to pick the white flowers that bloom off the lily pads. Taking the lily pads themselves I don't know.
