Guest
I will be fishing Devil's Lake the week of Oct 6th, can anyone give advice on what type of live bait is being used this time of the year?
White-tips
Go to the Minnewauken road and pull cranks up and down the road. Fish the top of it and the ditches of it but, just make sure your cranks are hitting bottom. You're gonna lose a few cranks but that's where my buddy just won the Casino Cup year-end tourny. Iceman77
I agree with pulling cranks at Devils Lake. When I lived there I used to run crankbaits from about the end of June on until hunting season started. If you prefer to use live bait I have had best luck with a chartreuse green jig head and a jumbo leech on deeper water rocky points and rock piles(25-35feet). Also, if there's a lot of current under the bridges you can usually catch a bunch of walleyes(usually small). If there's no current then keep moving.
