Fenwick HMX rod question

I just purchased a Fenwick HMX 6'6" ML walleye rod, does anyone here use this rod, and is it a good rod for the price? its 80 bucks, but I got it on sale for 60. Also what would be a good reel for around 50 bucks to pair it with? Thanks

The HMX's are nice rods.

I'd put a Pflugger MaxxXT or President on it.

I would highly recommend the HMX Rods,

I broke one last year and had no problem with a replacment.

I love my 6'6" ML. I've got mine paired with a Shimano Sedona and wouldn't complain a bit.

They are nice rods. Gander mtn tournamet reels are good for the money. They are under $50. I have two of them.
