Portable 12v Power

Welcome to everyone. I am looking for a way to power small electronics. The wife and I like to camp and ice fish, and are looking for a way to power a small fan, radio, phone charger, rope lights, etc.. I have been told to look at a power pack or running a few vex batteries in parallel. I camp in a tent and fish out of a Fish Trap Yukon. Any ideas welcome.

I would think that the power pack would be great idea for you. You can plug in a power inverter into the cig lighter socket that most of them have, and use the clamps to power your 12 volt items.

What size power pack do you suppose would do the trick for keeping me on the ice for a few hours at night?

I would get the best quality, and capacity that will fit in your budget. Read on the box what the amp/hour ratings are for each unit you look at. DON'T GET A CHEEP ONE! They don't last.

Higher quality portable power stations offer a lot of cross use and piece of mind on the ice. Portable power, and a jump pack...just in case.

The other option is a Honda 1000 or even better a Honda 2000 generator. They offer 12V out as well as 110 so charging and powering 12 V aplications in the field with a very eficent and quiet generator is very doable.

Depending on your lifestyle and overall needs as a homeowner this is a smart investment and may travel with you and offer even greater convenence at home and on the trail.
