Where to go: Boundary Waters October Walleyes

4 of us college guys are heading up to the Boundary Waters over Long Weekend (October 8-12).

I'm looking for guidance on what lakes to fish for walleye. I have been to Lake Insula and Thomas... Looking for something like that, with less work required to get there and great fall action.

i second Gabbro, should also try bald eagle.. If i could do it again, I would base camp on bald eagle and take a day trip to Pietro..

I second crooked but that is a little trek in there. Smallies will be on fire and you should be able to get walleyes if your bait can stay down there long enough for a eye to hit.
