installing older stove/range in wheelhouse

I just purchased an older traveler propane stove/range from a guy and want to install it in my fish house.

Not quite sure how to hook the propane to the stove. On the back of the stove is the fitting, but it looks like there is some sort of a threaded fitting screwed onto the main fitting that reduces the size down. The reducer almost looks like it is a copper compession fitting, which makes me think I have to route copper to the stove, but I really did not want to do this. I just wanted to connect a flexible hose to the stove.

Can a guy blow himself up if he were to redo this connection to make a flexible hose work?

Can you get a picture posted of the fitting? That would help.

not sure here, but try to take that fitting off. It might be he just cut the tube close to the fitting to remove the stove. Just a thought...
