I hit a small west metro lake last weekend. Had 20 plus fish sat afternoon from 4 to 7:30pm and average size was great. Alot of 17-19inch fish All on the frog, buzzbait, and rage tail shad. Went back to same lake as sun was coming up Sunday and caught 19.5 on second cast with Frog. Caught another 12-15 good average size with 17 being smallest between 7 am and 10:15ish. I think the bite will continue to impove expectially on size. I'll give it a shot again this weekend.

Casting up towards shore (1-3 fow) inside weed edge (like spring) bringing frog/buzz/ or rage tail through and over thicker milfoil patches. Sometimes lure gets slammed the second it hits water while other times its getting hit on inside edge of inside weed line, then even later as lure gets into open water in that 5-6 foot depth range. Wonder how this COLD / rainy weather will change things. I'll give a shot sat am or sunday and report results.

Speaking of the topwater frog bite, I've been using the best frog bait I've ever tried...I have used most all brands of frogs, both the double hookers like Spro, Snagproof, etc, and, the plastic single hook varieties.....The Z-Man FrogZ is a superplastic floater with a concave face that pops and it has active swimming legs.I use a 3/0 or 4/0 wide gap hook....High hookup percentages and very weedless....It looks creepy just setting in the water much like a frog as it is motionless.......Great popping splash and buzzbait like swimmimg legs.....Extreme blowups!
