harvey lee
I thought the pitch was about shoulder high and not over his head. Thats what I saw I thought.
DHanson
Punto didn't do anything wrong, but more than likely Gardy did.
Gary Crichton
Listening to the game, that is what I said to myself as I drove off the road banging my steering wheel. The pitch had to be up in the zone for him to pop it up. Thats OK a win is a win and 3-2 victory says there was pitching and defense. PierBridge
I like the call it was just bad luck the pitch was over his head and un-buntable other wise its probably a run.
UdeLakeTom
Not sure if it was over his head or just high, either way and unbuntable pitch, and the best he could have hoped to do was foul it off. It would have not been a strike if the squeeze wasn't on. My only thinking was Detroit suspected it, and thru a high pitch.
harvey lee
Uda, I could not agree more.
RJ
Interesting. Way too many blown chances for my Tigers, early. Your guy settled down and got the last 12 men he faced out. We wasted a good pitching performance. I notice you, twice, bunted, with weak hitting Punto to follow the bunter. Not critical, but I was glad to see the bunt in that spot. I hate the bunt, personally. There is a place for it, and we had one in the 9th, with Laird up. We had light hitting Inge up next. Didn't work for us either. See ya, tonight. greebs
Many small contributions in that first game that lead to the win. good to see delmon get the gwrbi to day. he's not had too many so good to see him make a contribution to a big win. Just goes to show that if a person can just put bat on ball instead of striking out, good things just might happen. strikeouts are kind of like leaving your putt short in golf; you have no chance of making the putt in golf and you have no chance of moving the runners in baseball. solbes
Detroit is going to live or die with Verlander. Hoping for the latter here in the 8th.

DonBo
How many times have we seen that? Score some runs to get close then give 'em right back. Frustrating aint it? But you gotta admit it's fun to be interested in the games this late in the season. I'll admit it, I gave up on them a couple weeks agp when we were 7 out.Young's on to lead off the 9th... Gary Crichton
RJ this is a great series set up. The next 2 games should be just as good I hope, but you have a nobody going tonight. Good luck to YA.
PierBridge
Here's Punto's bunt I was wrong it wasn't over his head it was 1 inch from being over his head...LOL
Gary Crichton
Wow that was up there. Lucky he made contact at all, and a tough pitch to get on the ground.

RJ
Eddie Bonine lost a game a week ago after giving up two hits. No hitter into the sixth, if I remember right. Our pitching is a mess right now, Washburn was a complete disaster, comming from Seatle. He beat us a couple times, changes uniforms, then can't get an out. Galaraga has been a mystery most all year. Don't forget last week, after you win games started by Verlander and Porcello, then we win with Nate Robertson, on Sunday. We're hoping for similar results in game three and four, starting today. Sure is fun, Good luck to ya, but I hope we win.
Gary Crichton
YA we are in the same boat. gardy has to come up with a starter to replace Liriano and Manship. Just hope the weather doesn't factor in.
harvey lee
The Twins starting pitching is a total mess. Nothing like what we started with at all at the beginning of the season.
bassNspear
cant agree more tom, They need to find players that can be consistent all year long!
fishin58
I believe they call that hindset is 20/20. If every one was perfect then why would they even play the game?
Gary Crichton
Baker going today and we must have this one. Still a chance and we shall need some help from Windy's so called TEAM, if there isn't a football game on, they might be able to win the last series of the year. A sweep would be nice Windy. Jim Uran
Well it's a heck of a year with all the injuries and stuff that happened. I'll be a proud fan win or lose.
fishin58
Build toward next year, I hope they sign Ocab and Pavano to longer extensions. Both have performed well.
