Saw a guy in his boat on saturday out on Twin Lakes. First he launches his boat, the sign at the landing says can only use first part of lake as a direct means to travel to the middle lake (of the 3). Landing part of lake is no-wake. So he drops boat in, heads toward other lake (under hwy 100) but has no trolling motor or oars I assume and can't get thru the channel, heads back. Decides to whip around on the lake for about 5 minutes. I am about to motor over to him then fate stepped in, as his motor poured out thick gray smoke. You would think that would stop him, nope, just idles around a few minutes, once smoke thins out, he guns it around the lake again, MORE smoke! Now pouring out of the engine compartment. He idles back to the landing, gets stuck on a sandbar and revs his motor to try and get unstuck, which ended up in just a thick cloud of gray smoke. All I could think of was that budweiser tune watching him

I've seen a lot of things on the water. Good, bad, ugly, and/or funny. I also understand not everyone, myself included, has the greatest of equipment or knowledge and try to get by with what they have.

Motor problems while on the water are never funny. No matter if it's me or another guy, motor problems just arn't funny.

I thought that was only when the water levels were high??? If not, I've broken that on more than one occasion.

This wasn't perhaps an old, Larson I/O, was it? I was waiting to launch there one day and witnessed a few guys trying to launch their boat. Between the horrid landing and their IQs, they kept ramming the skeg on the concrete till I finally helped them out (I stepped in when they almost let it loose onto the ramp--out of the water). Sounds like the same dudes smile
