Does anyone wear these for ice fishing? I noticed Steve Foss has a pair on in one of his pic posts. My feet freeze! When I was younger ( back when you could snomobile in the BWCA) I spent 2 days stuck in the slush up there with my uncle at -20 +. My liners of the pack boots were froze solid. ever since then my feet get cold. I need a pair of waterproof warm boots.

I have a pair of Mukluks and love them for real, true cold weather.

Not saying your feet can't get a touch cool over periods of inactivity but for a mobile fisherman in cold conditions, they work very well.

That being said, they are not meant to be waterproof. Not the original style anyway. You should spray them so they resist the moisture, but you just can't waterproof them.

The new Camluks are said to be water proof though. Seems like it would be a perfect match. I'll be checking them out the next time I'm in Ely.

Like wanderer said, they are not meant to be waterproof.

They are extremely warm from my experience, but were not waterproof at all. Great when its so cold that everything is dry, but once you get into wet/slushy stuff its all over.

Had a frozen foot 2 mile walk in from Fourtown lake(bwcaw)once because I found myself in the middle of some slush. I wouldnt wear them on a long trek after that.

I got a pair of Baffin's that are rated to -148 and I haven't had cold/wet feet since. They are made in Canada, and if anyone knows about cold weather its the canucks!

I wore steiger muks for quite a few years, but not for ice fishing. My feet were constantly getting wet. If they made a pair of gore tex muks they may be ok. the muks were great for walking or anything that water wasnt involved
