Leading Edge Tournament Series 2004

FishingMinnesota’s official fishing league is about to begin!!
Leading Edge Tournament Series 2004 Statewide Division.

We are little under a month away from our first event on Cass Lake. There are still some openings left.

This year, in order to get more people involved and give more teams the opportunity to fish these great events, we have opened up team registration on a single event basis.

Yes, you can still register for the entire series, with the added benefit of competing for the end of the year payout, but for those teams out there who just want to find out what LETS is all about or teams that have scheduling conflicts, this decision was made with YOU in mind!

What is LETS? It is a multi-species, team format fishing league. In the Statewide division, it is set up as a two day contest. First day fishing the evening and the second day fishing the morning. Winners are determined by overall weight of fish caught. Lets represents all levels of fishing skill and knowledge. LETS participants have fished out of everything from 12ft Jon boats to 20ft Rangers.

What do you get out of LETS?

First off, we fish some of the states most diverse and productive waters, providing all teams with a good chance of competing.

Secondly, LETS members are more than willing to share information on techniques, location and presentation to better your success. Everyone who fishes LETS has come away learning something new about tourney style fishing. If you have ever thought about trying out your skill in a low pressure, fun event, LETS is for you.

Thirdly, LETS gives you a great opportunity to meet fellow FM’ers and make friendships that last. Many of us now fish year round together and stay in constant contact. The Saturday night meal which is provided and is paid for through league dues, is a great chance to sit back, relax, trade tips and just have general all around fun.

Lastly, LETS gives you a low pressure venue to hone your tourney skills. Some of LETS former members have gone on to fish the RCL, MWT, and other large tourney circuits. Many LETS members have also gone on to become moderators and prostaff for FishingMinnesota and equipment manufacturers.

Cost for LETS is $300 per team to fish all 4 events, or $75 a team for individual events. ($50 entry fee plus $25 league dues)

    • There appears to be enough venison laying on the roads, gonna add a bit of that too!!
    • I've been informed that I'll be making this again this weekend up at the camper for some friends that will be joining us.
    • same here!!!!!!not many birds right now. the wrens sure are noisy. catbirds are about the only thing eating the jelly. i'm going to be pulling the mealworm and jelly feeders soon.   my frustration is not having any morning doves around. and them gosh darn friggin sparrows.
    • It took me almost a year to get those flying squirrels out of my attic about 20 years ago, never did figure out how they got in and out.                                                My birds seem to have all but disappeared. Hope it’s nesting time and they’ll be back soon. Stupid catbirds keep slurping up my grape jelly though.
    • Nancy, Welcome to the forum.   Thanks for the update. A lot of things can change in the last 10 years!
    • June 2019 According to secchi disc readings, Eagle Lake near Battle Lake, MN is ranked #1 & Lake Six in the far north of Otter Tail County is ranked #2 w/ depth of 140 ft & clarity readings at times better than Eagle Lake.
    • I see plenty of people fail to slow down for a deer in the ditch, like the deer knows not to jump out.  Or a deer crosses and people don't slow down, even though there is a good chance there's more than one.   I had one run square into the side of my car.  Never saw it.  I thought I got sideswiped by car.  It rocked my car pretty good.  Deer got up, took 5 steps and fell over dead.
    • Deer jumps out into the 4lane roadway at night, good luck with that speedy reaction time.      Don't over react and put it into oncoming traffic or the ditch.
    • Although I agree,  a higher deer population comes with more collisions.  Ever increasing speed, inattentive driving, and less and less dirt roads have lead to more in my opinion.  Reaction time is paramount to Avoiding deer car collisions.
    • That part of 94 to Monti is bad for road kills! 🙁
