Was That A True Touch Down With 12 Seconds Left?

Normally I will switch off the game in a situation like today. The disappointment is much easier to accept when you here about it after whistle

Everything went text book perfect that last series. I am kind of in shock.. Been awhile when it involves the Vikings and down to the wire, with winning included. laugh

I sure wish we had not been in the situation we where in late in the forth smirk , but I am very glad when the heat was on, things went right. grin

Thank god for prevent Defenses. Not to take anything away from Favre but you give a good qauterback time to throw and an open feild they will take advantage of it.

I have to give it all to Favre smile

Look at the over-turned play, where Farve had to go over the line of scrimmage. I figured he was going to keep running. If he did not have to do that, it might had not come down to the wire like it did.

Then the last pass to Percy. Favre was a running! wink

Keep your eyes on Favre during the replay of the winning pass to Lewis. Favre (I am sure) saw that catch while laying on his stomach. wink For gods sake, he had to find Lewis? grin

How many times was Favre sacked today? wink

Maybe Coldpepper could take the hits and produce back in the day, but most QB's in the NFL who are subjected to the pressure our OFL lets threw, would have been sitting on the bench some where in the 3rd quarter IMO. Or would have a record in turn overs going wink

Good game though! These kind of games are needed and it rules out pre-madonnaizum real quick with out loosing. Shows the rest of team (even Favre) that the game is not won after second number 1 is on the clock.

Here's what I love about Favre, the guy is down field blocking from time to time. Gotta give props to the guys who do the dirty work. Probably not the smartest thing for a QB to do but who's going to stop him?

Heck of a game today. I gave up on them but thought the 2 minute drill they mounted at the end was good and a positive sign, even without scoring. Then they scored. Unbelievable.

There's that Vikes fan history of low expectations. You guys are gonna have to shrug that off, although it'll probably take some time, considering how long you've worn the monkey on your back. gringrin

Anyone remember the Heidi Bowl? (No guesses allowed from LMIT and Pier Bridge) gringrin

The 49er's had 2 seconds to run one play.

Brett Favre 32 yard pass to Greg Lewis. Ryan Longwell kick. (0:12)

Vikes scored with 2 seconds left on the clock. No time is ran off for PAT and the niners signaled for a fair catch, again no time ran off clock.

I remember Steve, I wonder if those two were at this game? It's nice being on this side of a Favre miracle throw for a change. It took me a second to think "who's this Lewis"? It will be even better when Brett & Berrien get their timing together.

Um, when it comes to NFL quarterbacks, who cares who can drink whom under which table? The ability to hold your liquor isn't the issue, is it?

Although considering what you purple plops have had to root for in the QB position, I can see why you obsess over meaningless deer shack drinking games. Liar's dice, anyone? wink

That was something Vikes fans have not been used to seeing. I think the vast majority had given up after the three and out. The defense held very well and WOW what a finish. No way either of our other two jokers would have got that done. I haven't seen a two minute drill with the vikes that had clock management, well I don't think ever. Very nice to see.

Excuse me Adolph. If you don't care don't reply. Don't really need your approval for what issues we discuss. Especially when you're just a tool trolling around insulting the Vikes and their fans. Go find another forum to vent your mindless blather.

Must've hit a nerve, eh? wink

No nerve hit. Just a response to your post padding idiocy. It would be comical if it wasn't so mind numbingly redundant.

I'll acknowledge jabbing at Vikes fans. That's what Packers fans do. And vice versa. Been that way for decades. Pretty infantile for sure, but a common method of having fun on these sports boards. It's just sports, after all, not anything truly important.

Now, I've never attacked you personally by calling you a tool, or describing your comments as idiocy or mind-numbing or mindless blather, even though we are passionate about rival teams.

But it's all good. Life's too short to get the shorts in a bunch over stuff like this. I know from looking at your posts that you are a cerebral fellow who is above the testosterone-laden puffing of fan-on-fan, and that you prefer a meaningful discussion. And I suspect your Vikes are going to kick my Packers' butts on Monday. Hope not, but . . . gringrin

You and I have the exact opposite feeling about the upcoming game.

My apologies about my over the line comments.

I don't like the way our o-line has been handling the 3/4 defense. At some point Favre is going to die back there. I think there will be a lot of venom coming at him if you know what I mean. I looked back at the packs three games and see some problems stopping the run though. That gives me hope especially with AP on our side. Our pass defense is still suspect and Rodgers(sp) could carve us up if he gets time.

I just have a bad feeling. Gonna be fun though. BIG BIG game early in the season. I think there is going to be a lot of big hits and big plays.
