He did have an interception. It is more than I can say for a few of our other DB's.

It was actually a nice catch, he was turned around awkwardly and kept his feet inbounds.

So he caught a ball with no one around does that mean he can cover a guy, no it means he can play catch. Look how far off he was from Isac Bruce on that big pass play, I dont even think he touched him. The guy is horrible one on one,gives to big of a cution that he cant recover from, and does not know where to be in Zone coverage. Teams the Vikes play know he is the weak link that is why they go at him or run plays to confuse his zoning responsibilities.

I just see another Todd Scott a mediocer player at best.

What a dull rams game at least there is entertainment with Griffen stepping into blocks to take himself out of the play on running plays.

Maybe I am watching different games, but I don't think they have even been throwing on him as much this year. He is greatly improved from when we drafted him- which he should be. They have been throwing at Antoine and Tyrell A LOT more than at Griffin.

True, he had a few passes completed on him this week, but what corner doesn't- plus it was a blowout and we were playing prevent D- more of a zone coverage. So, even though it looked like it was on him, it was more in his "area."

wahoo...leads the team in tackles? Well, I got news for ya...Antoine is 2nd on the team. Griffin is 3rd. So, by that theory Antoine is worse that Griffin?!? EJ leads the team, as he should. Our corners are physical, help defend against the run corners. Plus, teams have thrown a ton this year against us- which is going to lead to higher tackle numbers from our corners.

I think with Griffin and Antoine we are set at CB for a few years. I, for one, am glad he is on our team and think he is actually very underrated.

I too dont agree. One game doesnt define a player, he is a lot better option than anyone else on the team. He has come up to stuff the run a lot better than he has in the past and that has to add to his tackle numbers. I contribute his tackle numbers to his mentor, Antoine.

Griffs a solid corner; there are not alot of shutdown cornerbacks in the NFL. Bailey, Woodson, Asumogha, Revis....Smoot ; I mean how many are there really?

Well I'm not sure what games you all are watching.

I actually made it a point to focus on what he does and I stand by what I posted earlier, try focusing on him an entire game and then you will see the light. You will see he will give a 5 to 10 yard cushion, even on a one on one basis you will also see his zones are confusing to watch. Then you will see he does not know how to play the run when a blocker is in front of him. Ya I know the defender has to play the blocker to see what side the runner is going to take but back peddling 10 yards with the blocker in his face is not sufficient especially when the runner is 10 yards behind the blocker which should give him plenty of time to dump a blocker and make the tackle.

I agree there is not much out there to replace him but a coach has to realize a weak point in the armor and fix it.

What is your assessment of Winfield if Griffin is so awful? I am with the others that agree that Griffin is a solid corner in a pass happy league. I believe your expectations of a corners performance do not match the reality in the league.

Ya im a bit confused, i think Griffin has been pretty stellar.

4 completions on 3rd down today 3 led to tds. the obvious cb to get a first down against. solid and stellar call him what you want, but he is the weak link.

I guess it depends on what you want. Hes not a shutdown corner, there are very few of those. Yeah he gave up a couple of 8 yard gains on 3rd and 6's. I don't see him giving up 7 yard slants that go for 50 though on the flip side either.

I think Winfield's injury made Griffin have to cover a fair bit more field. Paymeh is nowhere near Winfield's level.

Been gone for a while but I'm back.

You all think griffin is still good. I hope you sat back and analyzed his play the last 3 weeks and saw the big plays against him and a few scores off him. Got a say he is good at trailing the receiver after the catch. When was the last time any of our backs intercepted the ball, a few close ones but them balls must have been greased. And when was the last time griffin was even close to a ball in the air.

I cant believe these teams have not figured out throwing to the left is almost a sure thing.

they have figured it out. i think they just wait until 3rd down, that is first down for sure. he stinks!

He's decent.. He's not playin like he was the last few games of the season last year which worries me, but he's still "good enough"
