i will be fishing for muskie on mille lacs on october 15 and 16. i have fished there for walleyes but never for muskie. i think we will launch near the south side of the lake depending on the wind. are there any spots that r good for muskies? what should we be looking for in structure or weeds and depth and what sort of lures should we use, any info would be GREAT!

Thats all personal preference on the leader, I Like mono or folourocarbon, but make sure its over 100lbs. That or a good 7 strand or wire is sufficient.

Have you muskie fished much? Before u dive in with the cowgirls and bulldawgs make sure you have sufficient equipment to handle these baits, when you use inferior equipment it is very tiring and the odds of getting a good hookset drop pretty dramatically.

Based on my recent trips (Both walleye and muskie) Is those fish are out chasing those big tullibees so if you see suspended baitfish on the sonar it definitly wouldnt be a bad idea to throw or troll over the baitfish... Good Luck

A weight set gives you some screw-in inserts that allows you to add weight to a lure. Jomusky makes a good set for a decent price. http://www.jomusky.com/weightset.html

Check out his HSOforum for ideas but most on Suicks add the weight just behind the front hook hanger. The possibilities are endless once you start playing with weight changes.
