Painted porch floor stained

This summer I repainted the floor of my front porch with Dutch Boy Porch and Floor white Latex paint. It looked great until this last rain when wet leaves got blown onto it and now its all stained with yellow spots wherever a leaf sat. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? It's looking like I'll have to touch-up the stained areas. mad

Yeah, I'm not going to screen it in, this is more of a small decorative porch that stretches across the front of the house, its really not meant to be screened in. I just used some Soft Scrub that got rid of most of the stains, still a slight yellow in some areas but mostly gone.

I was hoping there was a sealer or something that I could put down to prevent this.

I had considered that as well, but there are some things to consider with that option.

The big question is, did you use a latex or an oil/alkyd paint?

If oil, then you could use an alkyd spar varinish. I am not sure they have a latex spar on the market or not. It is hard to say since the varnish has to seal out the water. NEVER COVER A LATEX PAINT WITH AN OIL/ ALKYD VARNISH! Latex paint needs to "breath"

The issue with that is, varnish will yellow or amber over time.

Or, you just stain/paint every spring or fall to make it look new and clean again. mad

The deck and outdoor "sealers" like Thompsons and the like are not compatable with paint. frown That would be to easy.

Just paint the floor the same yellow as the stain the leaves make so next time the leaves fall and stain your floor it will blend right in. Of course then you might have to paint the rest of your house to match the floor if the yellow doesn't match. I never said the idea was perfect.
