you might remember I posted some pictures of some of the wiring fiasco we have found in our house,, well I am happy to report we have that part taken care of,, we had an electrician come in and yank all the old stuff, and go underground with completely re-wiring our basement!!

our basement is completely gutted now, and we've stripped the house of the old siding and buffalo board, now it's re-sheeted with OSB, our contractor is coming on Monday to start the job,, he'll be doing 2 inches of styrofoam, siding, sofet and facia,, and our new entrance,, I'm very excited about it all!

I have been taking pics of the progress, and will post them soon,, stay tuned!!

cool, sounds like you have a lot going on. I remember the pictures, ouch.

yea it's coming along, but speaking of "ouch" you should see the finger of the young lad who helped my hubby and son yesterday jackhammering out cement,, the poor kid got his finger in the way and ripped off his whole nail!! I mean ripped it off!! when I got home from work, he showed me, and his nail and root is literally on top of smashed flesh on his finger,, it's a nasty nasty mess,, every time I think of it, I get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach... ouch!!!!!

we got the new entrance punched through the basement wall, and tomorrow the cement comes!! woohoo!!

ok 99% of the 2 inch styrofoam is up!! had a minor glitch with a window that was installed, got the guys to come back and straighten that out (it was 1/2 inch off level) and also I had our furnace and hotwater vents to the front of the house, and for cosmetic reasons we wanted them moved, they got moved last week to the back of the house. yay!!

my new entrance door was delivered last week as well as my siding,, the doors will go in next week, and maybe if we're really lucky the siding will begin to go on as well!

yea we're very happy with the results so far,, and yes, the framing in 2 doorways was all part of the plans my hubby and I drew up,, we used to have a 2 bedroom suite in the basement, but now it's completely gutted, and will be a bedroom and a recroom down there, and attached to the house (to the left of the main door) used to be a 1 bedroom suite,, but alas, I am taking it over for a portrait studio!! woohoo!!

this morning we got a call from our contractor, didn't he fall and break his arm a few days ago? so now he's out of commission for 6-8 weeks.

I'll post pics soon
