jigginjim
Mini survey, What are your go-to baits for muskies?
Nick Kuhn
The past 2 fish have been on spinnerbaits. Before that topwaters were the answer, and before that double blades. I'm guessing soon it will be cranks and jerk/glidebaits. My goto baits tend to be situational based on the structure I'm fishing.
hunter991
my goto has always been a bucktail. Light green skirt, with a nickel blade. I have caught 5 fish on it and 3 of those were after a follow on a different bait. (not sure if it was the same fish) but i think at least one of those was. I think the reason for that is i can run it deep, mid or shallow depending on where i am fishing. Having that versatility is why i think it works well. JimBuck
Glidebaits and WTD's. I love throwing them and I think it's just more of a confidence thing for me than anything. Fish chomp em'.
setterguy
bulldawgs - work all year, deep, shallow, dark, light.
50inchpig
agreed, dawgs take it. opener to Dec 1st. blades are good for a stint in summer but as soon as that bite calms down it's rubber time again.

HugoBox
The good news based on this thread is that there are really about 50 go to lures based on the responses. The bad news is that a guy could convince himself to go buy a crapload of new lures...For me blades are the biggest producers. Does that mean that 90% of the fish are caught on 10% of the lures because the fish like those lures or is it because those lures are in the water 90% of the time? Chicken or egg deal.
