Madison WI Area & Lake Mendota Fishing Reports

Recommended Posts

Fished Lake Redstone. There were a lot of fish, but most fish were just lookers. Fishing was poor in 23' first and 16' next.

I was extremely pleased with the LaValle Outdoors store. Gary and Art were very helpful and friendly. They took the time to answer every question about the lake, something some bait stores don't care enough about. Gary has a full line of tackle and bait at very reasonable prices. And they don't count to 12 when you want a dozen minnows. Gary put me onto fish, I saw them on the locator, but the fish just had other ideas. I'll be back in a couple of weeks.

If you have more info, please let me know. I can use some help here.

On lake Mendota the pike are biting using tip-ups. Pretty much atv travel. The ice is iffy. Even saw ducks swimming around. So be careful.

There are a few very nice 30+ inch pike being caught. The big girls shoiuld start biting soon.

Anyone else having any luck?
