Mike Sertich
Hi, just got home from that area. Bite was tough. Weather was a huge factor. Very inconsistent. Detour bite was ok. Ran from 60 to 102. Dipsey's best with meat rig. lots of fish around. Never seen so many lookers tho. We had quality fish but the total numbers were down. Most were mid to high teens. boats were scattered from inside Detour to well past Summer. gap was ok. great time tho. sounded as tho the Manistique bite was hot. Mike Sertich
How was your trip to Detour? Bite pick up? My friend is down there now with his family. I hope you had good luck. So much water;so little time. Be safe.
MI Friend
Back from Detour yesterday. After 3 1/2 days we got to fish about 8 hours. Wind, wind, wind and more wind. At Detour nothing going except a few lakers at 50ft. No salmon to speak of. Nets are a major problem. At least 5 nets between the Sate launch and the lighthouse. The locals are not happy, spoke to a bunch of them. Looks like Detour has taken a hit with nets and lack of recent salmon plants. PS- I did lose a $125.00 rod and reel off Raber when the holder let go in the 25mph wind and waves, what fun. Still a beautiful place to visit. Next trip to Brainerd, Mn on Sept.2nd for a month.Cannot wait, our 7th Sept. there. Best to all!
