Laker trolling speeds

Now that I live in laker country and have gone for a few them a bunch of times, I'm curious.

What's the best trolling speed?

Mrs. Catfish and I have done well about 3 mph in the canoe with paddle power, but others I know troll slower. When I'm casting the shore from Two Harbors, I use a medium retrieve (not sure how fast that is in mph).

So what's the answer?

We troll around 2.5 mph, on the south shore of lake Superior.
