vanhea20
My new hunting buddy is now 3 months old and house broke. I am now starting to think about hunting training. What is a good age to start training at? I've read any where from 6 weeks to 1 year. What is your guys thoughts on this?
setterguy
Anytime is a good time. They will pick up more than you think even at 12 weeks. With my pointing dogs I start whoa training at 8-9 weeks.
fishroger
Probably want to get the obedience training down first. Thought I could train my lab myself, but it takes alot of time. Finally took him to a pro and he did a good job with excellent results. Will be fun this fall with a trained dog.
gspman
What Setterguy said. Just keep sessions short and sweet.
