Trout in the Quary?

Recommended Posts

I have a couple of questions. When is the trout opener for this spring/summer? And once I can get out and fish for trout I'm going to go to the Quary in St. Cloud. What is the best thing to use in early trout season for these deeper ponds? I'll be using a fly rod and spinning real. Thanks

Trout fishing for lakes opens on May 10.

Jigs and twisters, small spoons, rapalas, and worms under a bobber are the main lures that work for trout.

The first three are effective casting or trolling.

The size of the trout should determan the size of the lures.

streamers, nymphs, drys, try a size 4 black wooly to imitate a leech, if you can use a sink tip or intermediate line to get down to the fishes depth. good luck
