  1. Any suggestions for a decoy spread that includes both ducks & geese? For opener I used the classic C with the ducks (two groups of 10 mallards with a landing area between them)and put the 10 Canadian goose floaters out in one bunch directly out from there (10 yds beyond the furthest duck). Several ducks and geese took a look but few showed any interest. Where would you position the floating geese? One group or more? In a group or single file line? Thanks for your suggestions.

    Lac Seul Questions...

The number of walleye's you can keep depends on which license you buy. An 8 day conservation license is $22.91 and allows you to keep (posess) 2 eye's. An 8 day sports license, for $39.26, allows you to possess 4. Several resorts will give you a consevation license for free to promote catch and release or you can buy the sports license and then bring home 4 walleye's. Here is a good link to the Ontario fishing regulations: Ontario fishing regs
  3. Last year while fishing on Lac Seul we were paid a vistit by the Conservtion Officer. We had no violations but were told we were required to wear our life jackets while the boat was under power. I have never heard that before and cannot find it listed in the regulations. Now I agree that it is a good idea, but is it required? Will I get a ticket if it is not worn?
  4. Here are the stats: 560 square miles, 358,290 acres of water and 3,000 miles of shoreline. The Lac Seul waterway is approximately 112 miles long with bays, peninsulas, streams, inlets and hundreds of islands allowing anglers of all types fishing specific to their angling style. As Lac Seul is the second largest inland lake in Ontario.
  5. I also have been going to Lac Seul for many years in June. We used to use minnows & leaches with good success but found that a jig tipped with a hunk of nightcrawler worked just as well and cost a lot less. Minnows are very expensive at Lac Seul. Last year we also tried Berkley Gulp products, 3 & 4 inch tails on a jig worked great. Had the best luck casting the jig into shore and pulling it back to the boat. Good luck.
  6. Have 6 guys traveling into Canada this June for a fishing trip. Two of the guys have DWI's on their driving record. Both were more then 15 years ago. Can we expect any trouble at the border? I have been told if the offenses were more then 10 years old the offenders have been "rehabilitated" and should have no problems. Any advise would be helpful. Thanks

    Lac Suel map

Thanks Tonka I'll check them out.
  8. I will be fishing Lac Suel this summer for the second time. I would like to have a depth map of the lake. Know of anywhere I can buy one? Does a depth map of Lac Suel exist? I have not been able to find one.
