-20 actual air temp, decided to hit the ice with my brother-in-law for the morning and chase after some panfish. Ended up having a great morning ice fishing, caught well over 50 panfish and ended up taking home 16 eater crappie.
Type of jig didn't seem to matter too much, any type of smaller jig or color 3-4 mm tipped with a spike, waxie, or plastic seemed to produce fish.
Even tried out the famous Bratner Wonderbread jigs. Seemed to work well but the size I had was just a tick too big.
Watch out for my next video, we hit up the Mississippi River recently and had over 30 flags in a day including a few really nice solid pike.

That's too bad.  The fish were ON FIRE up there.  I went out with my dad and uncle with our tiller walleye boat, and hardly a clue what we were doing, and we crushed them!  Ended up with 118 pounds of packaged salmon fillets.  I think I can honestly say it was the most fun fishing trip I've had in my life.  Here's my biggest of the trip, 25 pounds.

Had the b-day party a couple weeks ago and she loves it!  She actually did a lot better on the first ride than I though she would so once we're moved into the new house I'll be upgrading the battery and may not be as long as I was planning to bump it up to an 18 or 24v...

Hero shot of Ryan's NorCal bird.

    Morgan's 1st turkey- hero shot.

I even managed to shoot a bird this year!  Hero shot.

A non-hero shot from Morgan's hunt.  You have to look closely, but you can see the lopped off head, the bolt, and the body of the turkey in this picture.

A couple of non-hero shots of Ryan trying to shoot a bird outside of a blind.

I've got a video coming from Ryan's NorCal turkey hunt, but it's not put together yet.  The guys who hosted us out there are working on it, but it won't be done for a while, so I won't be able to submit it.  I'll post it as soon as it's done, but it will be after the deadline.  They make some really, really great video's, so I'm sure they'll do a great job on it.

My 7 year old got his first gobbler (or anything) on April 23.  He missed with his 20 ga on April 17, but kept after it.  I have never seen him so excited.

Myself and my 9yo on his first turkey hunt.  He decided Wednesday he wanted to try turkey hunting.  He has never showed much interest in hunting before.  Needless to say I think he is hooked!  Oh and he shot a bigger bird than I ever have.   25.6lbs 10 3/4 inch beard and 1 1/4 hooks.

Time to put Zucker back up with Granny and Koivu.  Sometimes when he gets pushed down in the lineup he stops working as hard.  Put him back on #1 line and he will pick it up.
Then Parise, Staal and Pommer.  Put Coyle, Nino and Haula together.

Was fun shifting the lines every game early on, but time to settle in.

My ladder doesn't reach the ground either so I keep a chunk of 4x8 post that it can sit on when I pull it down.
Works fine.   I suppose you could build a little box if you wanted to be fancy.

For anyone using a live trap, here's a lesson you only have to learn once - tie a long rope to the trap BEFORE you get a skunk trapped in it.

I feel like that project was kind of like when you do brakes for the 1st time and 1st side takes 2 hours to do and 2nd side takes 15 mins....If I had to do it again, I feel like it wouldn't take very long...That dang livewell overflow is the only thing that is pain in the butt...

If the Wild can play that tight come playoff time this is going to be a fun ride IMO.  They locked down so tight in the 3rd period SJ did not have many chances and the few they had were handled easily by Dubs.  Nice to see Staal and Parise score.

BartmanMN reacted to kudu63 in Ion x or Strikemaster lithium lazer
In my prior posts I mentioned the issues I had with my ION X.  I will say that ION stood behind their product and had address both of my issues (auger ice up and switch not working).   In each case they sent me replacements that I received within 2-3 days.  They sent me a new 8" auger - so far no freeze up on mine.  But in fairness I haven't been doing a lot of hole hopping and putting it to a real hard test with cold temps.  But so far I've seen no noticeable ice build up.

As far as the switch on the handle not work - they sent me a new switch kit - however taking it apart there are several springs in there that are not easy to get back together and went flying when taking it apart.   It did it on removal of the existing one and taking apart the new one they sent me so it was quite frustrating.   I call ION and said I had enough - they sent me a new power head to replace my old one and I just returned mine with the broken switch in their box.  ION also paid for all shipping as well.  That is great customer service and am quite happy with them.  So for about the past month I have not had any more issues.

In my perm house I drilled six - 10" holes and with the reverse feature pushing all the slush back down the holes.  I would say I barely had a half pail full.  That is nice considering how much slush there is from a 10" hole.  (note: I have both the 8" and 10" auger bit).
