  1. Check out the Tranx-(power model). Cast my brother's with double 13s and it was like pulling a small single blade with my calcutta. Spendy, but I know my next reel will be a Tranx.

    Calcutta Trouble

Send it to a Shimano repair center. I send mine to the one in Missouri. I think its called Outdoor World. You can find it on the Shimano HSOforum or in the owners manual. I send mine in every other year and they go through them and replace any worn out gears and drag. Yours should still be under warranty. May cost a few bucks for shipping. Worth it compared to the cost of a new reel.
  3. Somebody must be able to use this thing. I just want to get it out of the yard. I checked and the pump station alone goes for $500+ used. Probalbly could use it for a small boat or canoe/kayak if not a pwc.
  4. Galva-Lift brand PWC lift. The lift came with a SeaDoo I purchased and I have no use for it. Includes the tank, hose, pump, and mounting brackets. Pump works fine. Email for pictures. [email protected]
  5. Mercury bow mount trolling motor with bracket for optional transom mount. This motor came mounted on the transom of a boat I purchased. It is too short (36")to mount on the bow of this boat. Pushes the boat great from back, but I recently installed a bow mount. email [email protected]
  6. Caught a sturgeon through the ice Monday morning. 35 minute fight. 58"x27" on 10# power pro line with ultralite rod. Crazy fun, but I never realized these things would bite in the winter. Largest fresh water fish to date for me. Anyone else ever get one like this through the ice. Barely fit through the hole.

    Sunglasses for a big guy?

Check out SMITH OPTICS HSOforum. Many styles, sizes, and lens types. Several have polarized lens and quite a few are interchangable. They have a great guarantee too. I had a pair two years and the nose pad came off. They sent a new pair instead of fixing them. I am on my second pair in seven years and I wear them daily. Great shades. Find a pair you want and save some money by searching the net auctions.

    bulldawgs

Fished bulldawgs @ LOTW first week of July. Water was 4 degrees colder than last year and weather was tough. Used every lure in the three boxes and had but one follow on a bucktail (last year we boated 20. The bulldawgs produced several follows, two bites that got off right after hook-set (or lack of) and the only fish of the trip a 50.25" beauty at 1115 7/10. Six hours later had a bigger on follow as I dislodged the dawg from a rock. Went back two hour later and she hit on the figure 8 then cut the line on the motor when she made her first run. Oh well, that's musky fishing. Slow long sweeping motion was what work for us when nothing else did. Dawgs are awesome. Stick with them. They have a big slow profile that big skis can't resist.
  11. Does anyone know where I can find these lures for sale. Odyssey Tackle in Centerville,MN was a dealer, but I can't contact them. They must have gon out of business. I would like to buy more of these lures, but can't find them anywhere. The lures came from Finland. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! K
  12. This is a clam 6800 6x8 suitcase style portable fish house. For pics see clam corp HSOforum. Purchased new in 2004. Used twice at LOW, twice at Mille Lacs, and about five times here at home. Great shape. Comes with Ice Locks (installed), a sled with pvc skis, and a mr heater sunflower type. 6800 new was $550. Asking $450 for all. Love the 6800, but have 2 Guides and a homemade 4x8. My wife says I can only keep two. The Guides won out. She say no more Musky gear until I downsize the ice gear, so here it is. Great set up. You won't be disappointed. [email protected] Kelly

    Turus Ukko Wobbler Lures????

When you click the muskiebay tackle lures to buy, you have an endless chain of search engines. No lures. Thanks though. This was the only company I found with a Google search too. K

    St Croix or Shimano?

Looking for a new set up this year. Going to get an 8' rod which will be a St Croix Avid/Premier med hvy fast or Shimano Compre with same specs. The question of what reel to put on it is the bigger problem. I went through 3 Abu-Garcia 5600 Mag-x reels last season. They seem to work great for the first thousand or so casts, but have little durability and at $80 each I'd rather purchase a more expensive reel that will last several years than stick with more of these. The choices seem to be between St Croix Avid, Shimano Calcutta 400B, and Shimano Curado 200D. The Shimano Cardiff looks nice, but I am now afraid of a cheaper reels. Don't want the same trouble as last year. Going to LOW for 8 days and would like to have worry-free equipment. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
