    Lubrication Portable Metal Tube Poles

Silicone will jell up on ya in the cold, it has for me in the past at least. I keep a small bottle of wd-40 in my otter and just give the poles a quick shot and have never had a problem.

    Marcum LX-3 tc transduser noise

Quote: I was wondering if somebody can help me out. I am trying to decide between Vaxilar FL-18 and Marcum LX-3tc. So far I am leaning toward Marcum LX-3: more power, adjustable zoom (big plus), auto battery recharge, etc. However, when I went to Gander Mtn to look at both units, I noticed that Marcum makes more noise and the noise comes from the transduser. Vaxilar FL-18 made a little less noise (not much), but the noise was coming from the unit itself and NOT from the transduer. Does anyone know if the noise coming from the Marcum's transduser would negatively affect/scare fish? Thanks!!! I run a lx-5 and no they dont scare fish.Great units.

    Bass Boat discrimination

Quote: What a junky post this has turned into. You guys with the 12-16 foot boats, go ahead and pound your chests. Big deal if you caught a couple fish within eye sight of someone with a more expensive boat. Maybe it was there first time on your lake. Maybe not. If you are such great anglers and have it all figured out with your smaller boats you ought to jump in more tournaments and take all these pro's money. I would if I were you. I hope the water isn't rough though. I hope you don'e need a decent livewell to check in with before blast off, I hope your fish aren't more than a mile from the take off point, and I hope you can do well on pressured waters competing against many others. I know, you don't care, but don't sit there and think you are high and mighty because you only have a $1000 in your rig compared to a guy that you saw for 10 minutes fishing within eye sight and he didn't load the boat in a 30K rig. Get real. I know there is plenty of jerks. I have a bass rig. I, personally am not a jerk and that may be why I take so much offense to this. some of the biggest jerks I have met on the water have been guys in the little boats. What do ytou think of that. Oh ya, and one time a guy in a stupid little 14' boat came by me and didn't catch a thing while I was reeling them in. What an (Contact Us Please) he was. I just laughed. You know, lay off. To each his own. Quit telling your littles stories of this one time when..........Becasue for each one of them, I have one to. To comment on the stereotyoing of the pros.....Well, fisrt off, many of them are patch pirates. They just buy the shirts and stickers and whatever, think they are cool. But some are legit and are sponsored. So what, more power to them....They do well at some and not well at others. Everyone has there waters they are good on. Maybe its a points race for a championship somewhere. You can't catch themn all of the time. Also remember these pros you see locally are just that, local/regional pros. They go to work just like you and me most of the week, they were just smart enough to figure out a way to get paid for there hobby or at least enough to off set the cost. So they have there 40k rig and don't catch any fish by you in your 12' rig but they are the ones laughing on the way home cause it cost you more mone to fish your home lake than it did them to fish 150 miles from home. GREAT RESPONSE!!!
