Rebel - you were almost 100% right.  It was a gasket inside the fuel pump that was torn.  Replaced all the diaphrams and gaskets while I had it apart and the boat runs as great as it ever has run.  I'm glad I didn't bet you a hundo.  Thanks for the help!

Leech is absolutely on the right track.  Likely an easy remedy here.

Pinhole or small tear in diaphragm.

So, losing pressure when off at night and at low speed fishing. Small leaks like Rebel said sounds about right.
If it is running fine when at higher rpm's then the fuel pump, fuel flow and carb are keeping up the pressure needed then. The pressure is slowing leaking out some where which has to be a small leak at the diaphragm, fuel line connectors, or fuel pump seals. Good luck.

Saw a Rose Breasted Grosbeak at the feeder this morning in the metro.  Had not seen one for a handful of years but it is always a cool bird to see.

We just got shut out down by Caledonia also so don't feel bad and we've been turkey hunting since 1980.  We were on private land also but found the birds still flocked up.  We had flocks of 12 - 15 birds we were trying to work and it didn't work.  2 out of 3 could have shot jakes and we all had plays that just did not work out.  That's turkey hunting.

I had the same experience with the place west of 61 when getting a washer belt. Perfect belt (not cheap there either) but no advice. Will keep the other place in mind for next fix

The Amazon part was identical and showed up on Monday and took 20 minutes to install and put oven back together. I only uttered one swear word, and that was from dropping a screw... Piece of cake fix.

I replaced an igniter on an oven and it is pretty easy.  Bought an oven for deer camp and stove top worked but igniter did not get hot enough to open the gas valve.  $25 Amazon part and 20 minutes and it is now working like a charm.  Stay away from OEM parts as they will cost $100 or so.

I am on the "all venny" train, too. The only time I add fat to venison is when I'm making sausage. Even in the case of burgers, I like straight venny, and I just cook a little lower and slower after melting a dab of butter in the pan. I've never had an issue with them being too dry and I find I really like the texture.

I process my own deer and and grind my scraps to straight venison.  We usually make hot dishes, tacos, venny lasagna, or some other dish and I prefer all venison.  When I want a hamburger I either add egg to help it stick together but most of the time I buy a pound of hamburger for my hamburger.  It all comes down to personal preference as there is no right or wrong answer.

I think the biggest reason for more deer in the northern half of the state is a couple of mild winters.  Up there Mother Nature makes the rules.  I did actually see fewer deer this year than last year.  This year was 4 and last year 5 for 8 days of hunting.  Good thing was the last day each year provided me a small buck for the good eatin table.

Picked up a new puppy Pudelpointer in early Sept. and we finally turned the corner.  Have not had time to even surf the internet.  Lots of fun but man you have to watch puppies constantly.  I had forgotten how tiring the first month can be.  Of course I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Katmai sure is a cool place.  Was there several years ago so I think I recognize that one bear.  We also met up with a bear on the beach 10 yards away at one point.  That is a little unnerving for sure.  We will be back there again as we did not have time for the Valley of 10,000 Smokes.  Make sure to spend as many summers as you can up there when you get the chance.  They will go down as some of the best summers of your life - they were for me.  Thanks for sharing the pics.

The runs are officially started up here on the Kenai Peninsula. If you know where to go King fishing has been excellent this year, and we filled out Kenai river sockeye limits in two hours on Sunday afternoon.

Using a crossbow may not be the same but it is still bowhunting.  You still have to get close enough and beat the deer in their backyard.  I had to switch to a crossbow about 15 years ago and it was not too different for me.

Where did you live in AK?  I lived year round in Seward in the early 90's for a few years.  Saw plenty of good lights there when the clouds didn't get in the way, which was fairly often.  Best I ever saw was one time early Sept. hiking the back country of Denali back in the early 80's when I spent the summers up there.

I guess I wasn't thinking - I could have done backstraps one night and steaks the other.  I won't make the same mistake again

My venison steaks will be on the grill on Saturday.  The Mrs. is not home tonight and she said I could not grill them without her.  I might have to grill a pizza tonight or a chunk of fish.  The main question is whether to stop by the store for a lime for a little tonic and gin tonight or tomorrow????

My last dog had a sensitive tummy and would get the runs.  I switched to Natural Balance Limited Ingredients and that helped him.  Not sure how it would do with allergies though.
