    Uggh, Lug nuts

Well, fellas, lemme tell ya: I've had one terrific life and done more things than you'd probably believe. In fact I told my wife one evening shortly after we had moved to the lower 48, "I think you had best cool it with some of your recollections of our time and adventures in the North because I get the feeling most people won't believe you anyway. And to this day we don't shoot off our mouth too much just for that reason. EVERYBODY should be as lucky as I have been!!

And Gander? May be they have new pricing and marketing strategy? Don't be a hater the more sporting good around the better!

Ufatz, not doubting a word you have to say, you are quite the colorful creator. The stories you have told over the years of trapping in the Yukon Territory. Living in a log cabin, driving old trucks with right and left hand lug nuts and fighting off Big Foot have been interesting to listen to. To say the least. And now, you live in MN and drive a Mercedes Benz! Hat's off to you're life sir.

Ice Castle vs Firebrand vs Yetti

I have to side with LRG on the towing. Dry roads ok but a long haul to Red or LOW can get pretty nasty with light snow, slippery roads, and a good cross wind. Experience comes into play too and I’m sure a good percentage of the guys with the shiny new huge houses and sky high trucks hardly do more than go to Home Depot for 1/2 sheets of plywood.

Are you really serious.......thinking about needing a diesel......what are you a diesel truck salesmen? You must not actually use a pickup Much for the purpose of towing hauling is my guess. I don't know what's funnier this or when my buddy was worried his truck couldn't pull a 16ft aluminum Boat. I told him to use his minni van if he was worried lol.

Lord Calvert is smooth and cheap! I have some expensive bottles, but I find myself drinking lord Calvert, southern comfort, honey jack daniels, grandpa’s favorite Windsor. Mostly a rum drinker, but I like to have extensive collection to offer my friends.

nice and neighborly like let them know you feed and have bird houses up and enjoy the birds. ask nicely he not try to kill them. i also believe its not legal to kill purple martins as they are not considered a nuisance bird like sparrows and starlings!!!!!!!! not saying get beligernt or nasty!

If you are thinking 8x20 tandem, the weight savings is substantial for the Yetti vs castle. Pretty sure the Yetti has an advertised (I have no idea if it is accurate) weight of 4700-4900#, and the castles are coming in at 6-7k+. That is the difference between towing easily with a half ton on the low end, and starting to need to think about a diesel on the high end for safety and ease of towing. Yes, I realize that every half ton out there is saying they can tow 12k. It simply is not safe on MN roads in winter conditions. Weight aside, quality of craftsmanship and materials isn't even in the same area code. Even if they were dead even in weight, a full aluminum structure is going to substantially outlast a wood framed house, especially a wood house built with the lack of attention to detail as the castles. It doesn't take long on the famous search engine to find plenty of stories about leaks, lack of insulation causing condensation, and frame flex causing gaps in the siding-creating a perfect channel for water. Another good one to look into is Legend. Similar full aluminum structure, but a Berkon frame underneath.

Wanted to give a shout out to Legend Manufacturing in Ellsworth, WI. www.legendicehouse.com They are building a very nice all aluminum frame fish house . I took delivery of mine about a month ago. Gary Hible is the owner and he was great to work with on any customizing I wanted done and installing extra features. The fit/finish and quality are second to none. I have owned two 8 x 16 wheel houses prior to the Legend and there is no comparison. The Legend has a hydraulic lift system that is one pin and one button to operate, doesn't get any easier. Legend has lots of model options and sizes to choose from. The build was on time and the price was exactly as quoted. Gary was even nice enough to deliver it to my home, cant ask for better customer service. Attached are a few pictures of my house, the graphics were my own after market addition. Pricing is between big brand X and brand Y if you follow, very competitive. Good luck on the Ice!
