  2. Archers have strong showing at nationals Minnesota archers had a strong showing in the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) Nationals, May 12-14, in Louisville, Kentucky. For the first time, a Minnesotan was a first place finisher. Rowen McAllister of St. Croix Preparatory Academy in Stillwater finished first out of 2004 high school girls and received a limited edition Genesis Bow, a large trophy and $20,000 scholarship as a reward. In all, 241 competitors traveled to represent Minnesota at nationals. Also earning top honors were Noah Cagle of Robert J. Elkington

  3. Is it??? I don't think it is. Currently we are at 4-months until the "tentative" opening day of waterfowl season. That means only 3-months until early goose opens up. I'm already tired of summer and we aren't even to Memorial Day yet. Bring on fall.

    Fawns are dropping

Picture of my son with a fawn at a buddies deer farm taken last weekend. The doe dropped 3 but would only accept 2. They are now bottle feeding this cute little bugger. (The fawn:)

  5. so I ended up putting on some 12lb Trilene XT and seems to be working much better. Backlashes are gone and I am working on building my confidence to really let it rip on some further casts. Just spent some time in the back yard over the lunch hour doing some more practicing. Was out in the kayak over the weekend and went to a local lake that was killed off a couple years ago and restocked with a bunch of LMB. They are still really small 10-12" but can literally catch one every cast so its been a good confidence builder and great practice. Even landed a couple nice walleyes by surprise. Go

    Weekly Bass Reports

Last Saturday afternoon I took my son and daughter bass fishing on a small central Mn lake. We could see bass cruising in the shallows but they spooked at pretty much everything you cast at them. We tried swim baits, wacky rigged senkos, jig worms, jerk baits, you name it. We caught some on various baits but my daughter kicked our butt's with one of those pre-rigged Lew's worms reeled real slow. I'll have to add a few more of those to my arsenal for early season. Nels

  9. jensen jwm6a for the deck and it sounds great, has a phone app where you can bluetooth in and control everything from the app. Has a little larger footprint so I had to cut it out but looks good now. Also has a few more inputs than my last, has HDMI, and a digital audio input. For the speakers I just did a $30 dollar pair from walmart, nothing to fancy there as I dont plan on blasting it inside, but they sound great. Also ran wire for the below speakers for outside and I can hear them just about anywhere on our one acre lot when they are blasting. I might try and find a cheap powered sub

A buddy of mine decided to take the family out for a evening of slip bobber action. Me and a couple friends fished next to them in another boat. Walleyes were slow moving but we got to watch his wife land this 27 inch dandy! Another biggest walleye memory made! What a year it's been already and the summer is just getting started! And Another 28 landed yesterday with 4 other nice fish in a couple hrs of fishing! We are seeing the results from local stocking and a lot of CPR on this lake in the past! Some more catch and release F-U-N!!!Have a look!

We had a very eventful evening of fishing Saturday. Me and a buddy of mine brought his g/f and a good friend of ours out for a evening of slip bobber action. 15+ walleyes caught in about an hr of fishing. Most fish being in that 14-16 inch range and one very healthy 26 inch to top things off! Funny thing was me and my buddy stood back and helped the ladies and didn't fish much at all. Taking fish off and baiting hooks kept us both very busy, as we caught just about every species that swims in that lake that night also. Fat heads and leeches being the baits of choice. Fish were up shallow yet.

  21. Our last go round got 52 of em but had to defend our "posted" field to the hilt was a mix of adults roscos and juvies idk but sure had a lot of run ins with roost/field jumpers this year which is fine but please come talk to us we'd likely let you join us type deal, not flush the field were waiting on em, to go to water then set up, fields we've sipped coffee with the landowner earlier deal but was a muddy mess but lots of fun for April !

  22. We had a better experience this go round and shot a lot more birds although not a ton. Friday we got 13, Saturday stunk only 4, and Sunday got 11. I guess 28 for the wkd with a friend isn't awful and we could've shot a little better at times. I'm certainly thanking the specklebellied geese for what we got as they fly lower and often had 2-4 Ross' with em and I'd flag the specks as hard as I could(if there was any white in the flock) which brought the Rosco's right over us at least some of the time. But we had a mixture of adults, Juvie's and Rosco. Specks really helped us this wkd bring birds
