    Besides the motor on the back, I don't see much a difference between an old boat and a new boat. It's not like new boats parallel park themselves.

  6. Hello from the NW Angle! Surface water temperatures range from 65 in the morning reaching low 70s during the late afternoon. Minnesota has been best in shallower areas such as the Flag Island Flats (5-9 ft.) Prime time being the evening bite with many nice fish including a 31" beast. Deeper water around Four Blocks and LIttle Oak are providing good action for Walleye/Sauger. Orange has been the top color. Even with the recent Mayfly hatch and plenty of crayfish in fishes bellies, (Walleye, Sauger and Northerns) the fishing is awesome! Canadian fishing has been the best using bottom bouncers in the mud with gold being the most productive color spinners. Jigging will produce fish around structure with larger Walleye/Sauger coming out of 26+ feet of water. Pike and Muskie action is somewhat concentrated to underwater weeds or occasionally while jigging for walleye. We hope to see you soon! Sunset Lodge

    I think you'd probably have to develop connections to find the right boats at the right price. If you could also increase the number of boats you do in a given season you could also start buying some materials in bulk which would help drive material costs down. Still I'm guessing margins would be relatively thin, certainly not a get rich quick scheme.

    Sure I do Dave. You take a lot of nasty old rotted left over wood from torn down houses or where ever else they scrape it up from? Sweep it up off the floor and turn it into little compressed pellets usually for heating stoves, then Dave makes his food with it!

    Because that's the technical term. I can't help it if you don't know what a pellet grill is or what it can do. I'm more than happy to educate you though..... BTW, those St. Louis spare ribs were a 5-1/2 hour smoke.

    I meant to set your smoker to 130, sorry. Not an internal temp of 130, the fat will render out. I have a couple drops come out during smoking at 130 degrees that hit the diffuser pan. Smoking to 150 degrees internal temp is the target temp for making Canadian bacon out of a pork loin.

    I have an old MES 30that I put a new element in right before I got my pellet grill. I decided that all of the wet chips is what raised havoc on the last element, so now I run a smoke tube that I burn pellets in. The nice part is that I can now do cold smoking

    You could but that's just another thing and I like to make bigger batches. Like 50 # plus and I like them hanging. The MES is marginal at best for this and I have the cold smoker attachment on that. If you just want small runs of stuff that might work.

    Can you put a cold smoker box on the side of yours? That would be a good set up for sausage, sticks, etc.

    I'm still keeping the MES until I make my fridge smoker. The Pellet grill is great for some things but I still like a regular smoker for sausages, sticks etc.

    No, I wanted both in one package. A pellet grill IS a smoker and takes just as much time to cook low and slow as any other smoker.

    Boat prices are INSANE!!! Even used boats are still rediculous. As far as buying old used boats and rebuilding them for profit, I think you’ll be hard pressed to break even, let alone make a profit (unless you find one for dirt cheap). An old boat is still an old boat even if it’s been fixed up.

    So you really wanted a fancy Grill, not a smoker? Smokers do take up a lot more time but I'm having a lot of fun with my Char grill smoker.
