? on hooking up a 24v trolling motor

sorry no drawing but hope this helps. positive wire from trolling motor to positive on battery A. negetive wire from trolling motor to negetive on battery B. then you need a short wire to connect the negetive on battery A to the positive on battery B (which will hook it up in "series"(24 volt)) . that is how my minkota 24v trolling motor is hooked up.

I agree with FWT. Pos from trolling motor on pos post on the 1st batt...Neg from motor on neg post 2nd batt. Then just hook the two terminals that you have not used together (use a wire of equal or bigger gauge as motor wires when doing this).

I also use an auto reseting 40 or 50 amp breaker on the pos lead of the trolling motor. Just in case...fires on a boat make me nervous.

Im actually selling it mine always had the plug the old man told me on the phone that he wanted me to show him how to hook it up directly to the battery. Its a white headed minnkota 24. So I thought I better get a few opinions before I explain something to him . thanks guys
