I ran it and it was ok but I found it rather stiff in smaller diameter than other trilene like XL or XT.

Im running it for the first time on one of my line counters. It looks like it should do the trick. Im not too sure how it would be for casting unless you are using a small diameter.

I just bought the max in 6 pound held memory so bad probably the worst i ever had stripped both rods after the first night of casting and switched to spider wire fished last night with it probably the smoothest line ive ever used. Will it cut the water like fire line pulling plugs because it is a braid?

Tried it a few years ago and hated it. Took it off the spool(s) first thing as I returned home. Terrible memory and stiffer than XT. Stick with XL or my favorite is Sensation.

I bought two 330 yd spools of XL from Gander that had a 110 yd spool of Maxx shrinkwrapped onto it, they must be trying to get rid of it!

    •   Really, how deep?  Head scratch?    Oh, I think I'm smelling river.

    • that worked today    friend was throwing jerk bait and 4 nice eyes slammed it. funny!
    • Cooler than normal temperatures, clouds and rain dominated the last week and slowed down the spring progression, including bird migrations and fish spawning. However, a warm-up in the next couple of weeks could change that quickly.River systems across the entire state are running very high, and while the Memorial Day weekend has traditionally been a popular paddling weekend, recreational safety specialists are cautioning that only experienced and properly outfitted paddlers should be on rivers when they are running this high. The Lower Wisconsin River set a flow rate record this week of 42,000 cubic feet per second at Muscoda and there are no sandbars available for camping. The river is running fast and deep, with some boat launches under water.Fewer anglers were out this week due to the rain and cooler weather and those that were reported mixed success. Along Green Bay one hot spot has been out of the mouth of the Pensaukee River where anglers have been catching limits of walleye. White bass anglers had a great deal of success, with some harvesting more than 20 fish from a few hours of fishing. .
    • I believe they use the same blades so I wouldn't expect much of a difference.
    • So what is the difference between the Lazer Synthetic and just a plain ole Lazer hand auger when it comes to cutting ice with a hand drill?  Lazer Synthetic is lighter but does it cut any better?

    • My family is going to be headed to Birch Lake near Babbitt, MN in late June for a week on a houseboat.  This trip is a graduation present for our oldest and I am hoping to make it a week to remember.   I would appreciate any advice ranging from fishing locations, bait, suggested lures, and even sites to see on the lake.  I have done a lot of searching on Google with the hope of finding someone who maybe spent a week on a houseboat on Birch but not a lot of luck.  I have about a month to prepare for the trip so I greatly appreciate everyone input.   Thanks,
    •     I have had good luck with the "My Plate" app.... It is annoying enough to keep you honest, but simple enough to use.
    •   Yeah well once you fire that bad boy up and show her how it works, she will get impressed pretty quick!
