tulips - transplant?

Can you dig up tulips and transplant them this time of year or will it kill them? Thx..

I wouldn't......they are building reserves from this year's growth for next year's flowers.Dig them when they turn brown and the top pulls easitly out.

I have found that it is nearly impossible to kill tulips. I would wait until they are done blooming, then go ahead and move 'em.

I moved some last weekend, right before they bloomed. i had to though because of landscaping changes, and they look tough but they bloomed. they will be back in full force next year though these flowers are bombproof.

I have dug them up on jobs spring thru fall. Just get them back in the ground as soon as possible.
