JigsawedEyes
I have a 14 foot small boat would a Minnkota 30lb thrust trolling motor be good for it? I just seen a sale on it what does ev1 think? Id just use it for when i cast toward shore or by the dock. Also what do you suggest for a battery?
marine_man
It should work if your boat isn't too heavy or too high out of the water. You'll want a deep cycle battery to run it.marine_man
GBPackerNut
I used a 30lb motorguide transom mount for about 5 years before upgrading to a 55lb powerdrive and to be honest, either motor had enough thrust for that boat. The 55lb motor was overkill, but when I was in a heavy wind, having the extra thrust is nice.Battery, personally I would reccomend a 27 series deep cycle, the Interstate Batteries green top RV/Marine batteres have been real good to me so far.
