Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Question for the married folks...

Recommended Posts

I could've sworn for the first time married license you have to know their SSN. After the first year, if you bring your old one with you, then its real easy to take care of and nothing to change.

I'll get that info to be on the safe side. Thanks, guys.

alittle off the topic but, I was really surprised the 2nd time I bought a non-res license there in Minn. All I did was show my drivers license and up all my info from previous days showed up for a quick and easy issue. One year here in SoDak I was checked but I left my wallet in the truck. All the CO needed was my DOB and last 4 of my SSN and it showed up in a hand held computer he had. The grandaughter was with me and they asked her for her DOB (she was under 16) and we were good to go.

All I can say is aim low on the weight question! Either that or just don't show her the license. Nothing ruins a day of fishing quicker than that voice from that back of the boat saying "You think I weigh how much?"

Can you buy a husband and wife combo but only one Trout stamp?

Yes. I get the combo and only the trout stamp for myself.

Ditto on the weight and make sure you get the color of her eyes right. Man was that a mistake you will only make once believe me!

I was buying ours last year and she wasn't with me. It went something like this:

Guy: What color are her eyes?

Me: Brown

Guy: What's her weight?

Me: Excuse Me?

Guy: What does she weigh?

Me: You gotta be kidding me.

Guy: How long have you been married?

Me: 11 years.

Guy: You've been married for 11 years and you don't know how much she weighs?

Me: That's right.

Guy: Well, you wanna call her and ask?

Me: (laughing) You'd like that, wouldn't you? Hey Man, I'd like to be able to go home later.

Guy: Well, take a guess.

Me: Wow, that's dangerous. Ok. How about _____?

Guy: Why you asking me? She's your wife.

Me: How long have you been married?

Guy: 32 years.

Me: Do you know what she weighs?

Guy: (chuckle) She doesn't fish.

Me: I see. Take 10 pounds off my guess and we'll call it good.

You may want to make sure you know here eye color too. I screwed that one up but she knows I am not a detail guy. I guessed the weight light too so that made up for some of her ire over the eye thing.

Wow. My wife ballooned to a whopping 112# when she was pregnant with our 3rd. In 30 years that's the only time she broke the 100# mark. The weight question is a non-issue for me.

    • I've never been to Boone's but I would think that Ahlman's Gun Shop down by Waterville might be similar and another possible resource.
    • Was able to get out these last couple weeks a couple times to enjoy the waterfowl before most of them left for good. Surprisingly was able to find a couple sea ducks on back to back weekends. The harlequin was a first for me in MN and the Long Tail was the second of my life.  Young long tail days before this lake froze over. Hen Harlequin below the St. Cloud darn couple weeks ago. American blackduck - may have some slight mallard mixed in with it as I noticed some green on its head from certain angles. widgeon picture I liked the colors with. This was taken early November.
    • Hey, I just started mine and did about 5 circles around the yard just to smell some exhaust!
    • Wow. That's like a dictionary.
    • I downloaded and printed the manual. Worth it. It does so many things it would take years to fumble through to find shortcuts and fine tune without it.
    • Well, the package arrived yesterday and I got it put together last night. Overall impression compared to the lowrance is that this is by far a better unit.   Starting with the bag. The zippers and fabric are more heave duty and look to be able to stand up to much more use without problems.   The plastic holder- probably a wash between the two units but the HB has done some nice things with cord management that give it the nod. Also feels a bit more durable.   Now to the graph- I live the display. It looks more sharp and more professionally designed than lowrance and to be honest I like the look better that the marcum lx units as well. Just personal preference. The adjustments are more intuitive and overall after being a lowrance guy for a long time I can't find a single thing that lowrance did better.
    • Dude, it's ok shes not on here.  Save that for Facebook!
    • If you want to be happy for the rest of your life make a Finnish woman your wife.
    • @huntnfish If you haven’t found another route to go for info, try calling Boone’s Fine Guns in Isle.  No guarantees they’ll know about that beauty but they could know a good resource for you to contact. I’ve never seen the selection they have anywhere else before.
