Eagle Fishmark 320 fish finder Questions?

Lund1700Angler

Question

I have an Eagle Fishmark 320, which I have had for a few years and have not been real happy with it. Is there some initial setup procedures when you first get the unit? I don't seem to get a very good display of bottom structure. I have an older eagle in the boat and seems to show more structure and fish.

Just wondering how you guys like the unit and if I am missing something about how to properly use this unit??

I guess I am imagining from the fishing shows when guys show their displays and the have arcs around structure. This unit doesn't seem to pick up anything for fish. I have used the arc and fish symbols to designate fish.

Thanks,

Michael

I used one for 3 years when they first came out before moving up to a color unit. I had no problem with mine after Eagle replaced my original transducer, which was bad.

Always use the manual mode (arch's), I think my best settings were about 88% sensitivity and 75% greyline.

One thing that I did was whenenver I was fishing (walleye) I would either split the screen and go to either 2x or 4x zoom on one side, or zoom the whole screen to 2x/4x. Doing this really gave me better target seperation on those bottom hugging eye's.

You might also want to check out what your noise rejection is set at, if its too high then it will eliminate alot of things, including fish.
