Outboard "rattle"

3 posts in this topic

Hopefully someone can point me in a direction. I recently lowered the idle speed on my 1996 Force 75. It runs perfectly at idle speed and even up to about 25 mph. Above that there is a rattle that develops. It doesnt really sound like it is internal so I am not quite sure.

Brief history. the starter bendix has had troubles going up recently. I replaced the voltage regulator this season. Last year I had the shop replace all of the gaskets and reeds in the motor becasue of an issue. I also had the skeg replaced this off season and had a rebuilt prop put on the motor.

I never really noticed it until after I switched the idle speed though.

Any ideas out there?
