This is Gunner, Classic Point.

Today Gunner is the greatest hunting dog, companion and best friend to my two sons. Every dog has this day, the day they can be proclaimed the best of all dogs.

Here Gunner is retrieving a rooster that 3 other dogs gave up on.

As we all know behind every bird in the mouth is a dog smile. The smile says are you happy? Look what I brought you. Hunting dogs do not think of themselves they think of their master and do whatever it might be that might please them. They comfort us in sad times, teach us patience, teach us how to unconditionally love, they give us joy and unfortunately they give of sadness one day in their life. Ironically it is the same day the can be proclaimed the BEST dog. Their last day.

Gunner passed away today 11 years after he was born in a plastic swimming pool in my basement, almost 10 years since his first rooster. 11 years of companionship for my boys. He was a ball fetcher, dock jumper, psychologist, master hunter, un-waivering giver of love.

He will be missed. But today he is the best dog in the world.

Im looking for a coonhound, a black and tan or a treeing walker maybe. Do you know of any breeders in or around Minnesota?

It will be a family dog for the most part, although I would like to have it trained well as I have access to run it..

I had a tricolor beagle for 14 years, they are somewhat simmilar in behavior right? I know they are all different, my beagle never left my side or barked without reason.. She was also about 25-30lbs full grown..

Any info about coonhounds would be appreciated! Thanks
