gas cap on portable cans

Dragonsm

Recommended Posts

Currently I have 2 portable plastic tanks for my boat. (6 gal and a 3.3 gal) They are the Chilton brand ones. These are the ones that have the clear top to the gas cap with the needle gauge telling how much is in there.

last year the clear top popped off one of my gas caps which even after being glued back in place leaks fuel everywhere. I went to try and find one of these caps and have struck out. Seems as though everyone sells the moeller brand tanks.

Anyone run into this yet where they needed to replace the gas cap? Wondering if maybe one of those moeller brand caps would work on the tank. I could care less on the gas gauge thing.

Thanks,

Steve

I can't help you Dragonsm, but I have a similar issue with the tank for my 25 Suzuki.

The cap doesn't leak, but there's so much condensation in the clear part, that I can't read the needle telling me how much fuel is in there. (I like to see the needle)

I'm interested in the same answer as you.
