In order to obtain flight, many aquatic birds such as this Common Goldeneye must gather enough foreward momention by running on top of the water to assist with take off!

As best as I can tell, this is a Least Flycatcher... At first I thought it was an Olive-Sided Flycatcher but its lacking the V tail.

Another Brown Creeper. They are very plenitful along the eastern shores of Lake Winnipeg.

Nice shots Stu. I think you have an Eastern Phoebe there. They flick their tails alot-like cheerleaders. grin

You are getting that creeper dialed in. I'm jealous. They are so tough. The phoebe is a very sweet shot, and the golden eye a very funny one.
