Harriet Island any good for Channels?

I'm looking for some shore fishing spots for channels. Not asking for your secret spots but could someone point out some decent catfishing spots? All I hit are bullheads!

Is Harriet Island any good? Is it in the main park itself? Lots of questions for an eager/newbie catfisherman. Looking for spots in and about the cities.

Thanks!

I tried there once last year, got one channel, maybe a 3 pounder, the whole day. Fished late morning through just past dark.

Tried cut bait, chicken livers, and crawlers, in a number of different spots.

However I have been told by many people it is a great place for channels, I'm sure I just had a bad day and will be giving it a couple more tries this summer.

It seems like most species come and go. One day all you can catch are channels but the next they go away. Sometimes the buffalo will swim through and the next it will only be drum. It is best to mix up spots.
