TROUTTEASER
I was thinking of adding Amsoil PI through my first tank of gas in my Yamaha F75. Good idea or bad? Stuff works great in my truck. Just wondering if its ok for my 4 stroke too or just stick with seafoam.
theoilman
AMSOIL PI will work as great in your 4-stroke outboard as it does in your truck! However, don't overtreat. Don't use more than the recommended amount and don't use more than once every 100 hours.Note: do NOT use in 2-strokes.
TROUTTEASER
Thanks oilman. I think I'll try it. Just curious, what could happen if you overtreat?
theoilman
I'm not sure. Everything I've learned says don't. Though I do know 1 person who treats a lot more often than the recommended and he continues to do so. Gasoline companies all seem to advertise how great their cleaners are in their pump gas - and we all know that most of them are marginal at best. What they are really saying is that "we have the government required 120 parts per million (ppm) detergents." The AMSOIL PI gets you to over 4000 ppm of the "most advanced detergent" package.
